U.W. Clemon Elementary School

The new U.W. Clemon Elementary School replaced an outdated elementary school facility in the Adamsville area of Jefferson County. Serving grades 3-5, the school includes 42 classrooms, a competition gymnasium, an art room, a band room, and a cafeteria. The school also houses a required ICC500 Storm Shelter. The school is dedicated to retired Federal Judge U.W. Clemon, honoring Judge Clemon’s life and career as a civil rights leader. Faced with a tight schedule due to scheduled school closures, the new building was completed on time and within budget.
