Davis Architects designed a 13,733 SF freestanding addition for 400 K-5th grade students at Snow Rogers Elementary School to address a growing population in the Gardendale area of Jefferson County. The building consists of eleven full-sized classrooms, one half-sized classroom, associated restroom facilities, teacher work room, and miscellaneous storage and support spaces. The entire building is a stand-alone storm shelter, oversized to accommodate the student body with faculty and staff, as well as members of the community if necessary.
