Skylar Howard

Principal
Skylar came to Davis through Auburn University's Urban Studio internship program and became an official team member in 2014 after earning her Bachelor of Architecture. She knew architecture was the right path since seventh grade, when a school assessment matched her strengths in art and math to the profession. As a principal of the firm, Skylar’s combination of creative and analytical thinking still defines what she loves most about the work. Her portfolio includes standout work on the Crimson Reserve, the University of Alabama's practice facility for its men's and women's golf teams. This project is a benchmark in collegiate athletic design that she led from concept to completion and considers a career highlight. Skylar is especially energized by adaptive reuse work that prioritizes sustainability and respect for architectural heritage. At Davis, she values the people most of all, and believes Davis is a firm that genuinely prioritizes its employees and their families. Outside the office, she enjoys family hikes, singing in her church choir, and oil painting.
