Neil E. Davis, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP - Director of Design

With nearly five decades at Davis Architects, Neil Davis has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s legacy of thoughtful, enduring design. A 1976 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Neil joined the firm early in his career and has since helped guide its evolution—mentoring generations of architects, embracing sustainable design practices, and leading some of the firm’s most technically complex projects.

Neil holds credentials from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, International Code Council, National Fire Protection Association, and the Association of Luxury Suite Directors. His passion lies in tackling challenging projects—those that require creative solutions, rigorous coordination, and a steady hand.

What Neil values most about Davis is the opportunity to grow alongside his colleagues and help others do the same. Outside the studio, he remains deeply involved in the community, with leadership roles in organizations such as the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, UAB Arts, and previously the Cahaba River Society, Sidewalk Film Center, and Samford University Interior Design Advisory Council.

When he’s not practicing architecture, Neil still thinks about architecture. He credits his wife of over 40 years, Dianne, as the true better half of his story.
