The Davis team worked with the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government for the design of a new 520 space parking garage with integrated mixed-use liner components in the heart of downtown Athens, GA.

The design of the 7-story parking garage was respectful to its downtown location in scale and included street level retail to reinforce the pedestrian experience. The design also included rooftop office space which overlooked a green rooftop garden with drought-tolerant vegetation and a rain water cistern that satisfied Clarke County’s LEED requirements while also serving as a prime amenity for the office tenants. The cast-in-place parking garage is LEED Gold Certified, is conveniently located to the western side of Downtown, and was the first public building in Athens to incorporate public art into the exterior envelope of the project with banners and decorative metals panels designed by local artists.

The project received a First Place Award in 2011 from the Georgia Chapter of the American Concrete Institute, as well as being named the Public-Private Deal of the Year in 2012 by the Association of County Commissions of Georgia.
